Every form is thrown off the hump individually, then a foot ring is turned into each of them making them completely unique from one another. Pit firing dates back 30,000 years, making it one of the oldest techniques in ceramics.

FEATURES

I use an array of heavy metals (copper, cobalt, manganese etc) and organic materials that get absorbed in the porous clay body during the 8 hour firing process, creating the dynamic smoky surface finish . These vessels are sculptural pieces therefore they are not food safe or waterproof.
